What’s in a Landscape Concept Plan—And Why It Matters
Before the first plant goes in or a contractor is booked, a well-thought-out concept plan acts as the blueprint for your entire garden. But what exactly is included, and why is it worth the investment?
What’s in a Concept Plan:
- A scaled layout drawing, it shows the overall plan. We usually do this at a scale of 1:100 so you can use a normal ruler to check dimensions and get a feel for the spaces.
- Proposed hardscape areas. This includes elements such as paths, drive, steps, fencing, retaining, decking, patios, raised beds, screens & walls
- Planting zones – the garden beds & pots/planters, ready for the plant selection.
- Key features such as pergolas, outdoor kitchens, or pools.
- Visual references or mood-boards
Why It Matters:
- Prevents expensive changes mid-build
- Aligns all contractors with the same vision
- Clarifies budget needs
- Helps stage the project over time
